The Friday Kickoff, Bistro 72’s New Start to The Weekend

It’s here! The all-new Friday Kickoff. A live music, happy hour guaranteed to put the work week in the rear view and get your weekend kicked-off right! You’ll be able to celebrate the start of the weekend with discounted drinks, delicious appetizers, and live music by local musicians from 5pm – 9pm.

You and your friends will be able to grab a draft beer for $5, a martini for $8, or a glass of wine  $7. We pour wine from many local vineyards such Ospreys Dominion, Palmer Vineyards and Bedell Cellars, and beer from local breweries like Blue Point Brewing Co., Greenport Harbor Brewing Co., Bellport Brewing Co. and Montauk Brewing Co. The happy hour also features our newest creation–Bistro Bowl Cocktails. Our bartenders serve housemade red or white wine sangria in large, fruit-filled glass bowls, making it an easy drink to share with friends.

Gin and all that Jazz

Next Thursday, June 15th marks the second of Bistro 72’s Patio Series, Gin & Jazz. The event will highlight Brockmans Premium Gin and the music of local musician Johnny Sax.  

Brockmans is a super premium gin that hails from London. Its popularity across the pond gave rise to an expansion of its sale into the Northeast. Overall, the mouthfeel of this gin is smooth, yet a rich and flavorful. Its unique flavor profile comes from an innovative combination of Bulgarian coriander, which has an aromatic, almost gingery orange flavor, that pairs well with the softer, more rounded harmonies of the blueberries, blackberries and dry, bittersweet Valencia oranges peel incorporated in the gin.

Long Island-based musician Johnny Sax will be performing smooth jazz, fusion, and standards into the night. He’s performed at venues across Long Island for over 20 years and can play the saxophone, flute, clarinet, and guitar. Though he sometimes plays events accompanied by fellow musicians as a duo, trio, quartet, tonight we’ll have Mr. Johnny Sax all to ourselves.

Dine with Dad this Father’s Day

Father’s Day is Sunday, June 18th and we’ve crafted a special, prix fixe menu just for the occasion. For $50 Per Person, plus tax & gratuity, you can enjoy three courses of locally inspired dishes and a complimentary beer, glass of wine, or cocktail.

The menu opens with a starter: your choice of Seafood Bisque, an Iceberg Wedge Salad, or a Jumbo Crab Cake made with a spicy aioli.

The mains feature a fried, half chicken served with a side of green beans, homestyle biscuits and a drizzle of honey to balance the savoriness of the meal. If your dad’s more of a seafood guy, he’ll love our Fish & Chips entree, beer-battered cod and hand-cut chips, served with tartar sauce. For the vegetarians, we’re offering Rigatoni Mezzi, rigatoni pasta with fresh mozzarella, pine nuts, roasted tomato, baby spinach, served in a white wine and butter sauce.

For a little extra, dads can help themselves to a 16oz Prime Rib Eye steak with a baked potato and sauteed spinach or our Double Bone Pork Chops served with a mushroom risotto and seasonal vegetables, or our famous Lamb Rack (pictured above) served with mashed potatoes and asparagus in a burgundy sauce.

No meal is complete without dessert. Top off you this Father’s Day dinner with Zabaglione, a marsala custard with vanilla ice cream and biscotti, a classic New York-style cheesecake, or our finest Apple Cobbler.
