Bruce McDonald

Bruce MacDonald is a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, mandolin, autoharp, banjo) who has been performing on the Long Island music scene for more years than he cares to remember. Primarily a finger style guitarist, he plays toe tapping rhythms reminiscent of Chet Atkins and Tommy Emmanuel as well as the blues, early jazz, and ragtime styles typical of the 1920’s.  He won the 2006 and 2012 Long Island Blues Society acoustic competition and represented L.I. in the Memphis, Tennessee competitions. In addition, he has been played on NPR, WPKN, and other radio stations. Bruce can be seen performing in a trio as Barbecue Bruce and the Briskett Brothers as well as a solo or duo.    Bruce frequently plays all over the north fork of Long Island as well as the tri-state area.
