Truck Stop Gypsies are a seasoned, powerful and high-quality rockin’ Blues 4-piece band. Lead vocalist/percussionist Lauren Ware charms with her smooth Bonnie Raitt, Susan Tedeschi and Stevie Nicks blend. She takes command and is a show stopper. Husband Chuck Ware shares the spotlight with her on his guitar. He will take you around a switchback of adept playing from Django to Hendrix to Dylan, singing as well. They are joined by The East End Trio’s rhythm section: Doug Morrow on drums and Miranda Gatewood on bass who both put in years backing major players like Blues legend Sam Taylor.
Although Jesse Barnes hails from the rust belt, as a guitarist and a composer he has devoured an eclectic mixture of music. In the early 90’s he came up listening to hip-hop and shining shoes in his father’s barbershop on Cleveland’s east side. It was here that he was introduced to the guitar, and after cutting his teeth in the local blues clubs while in high school, he spent the next 10 years playing in New Orleans, Chicago and eventually Brazil. Now residing in Brooklyn, New York, his music has incorporated bossa nova and jazz and yet his songs still resonate with the simple stories he heard at the barbershop. Jesse currently plays guitar with Eli “Paperboy” Reed, and the High and Mighty Brass Band and will be releasing an album with his group Take Berlin in April 2012.
April Rain is a musical duo located on Long Island, NY.
They are very eclectic and play several genres to entertain all ages. They have the ability to play at a conversational volume and want you to enjoy the music as well as enjoying the company you are with. But can also bring it up, in volume and tempo and get you up and dancing as well.
Our performers come from far and wide. We feature Long Island natives as well as performers who come to enjoy the atmosphere of the East End. We have created a community of talent that features legends and rising stars. Our past performers have included Prentiss McNeal, formerly of The Drifters, American Idol finalist Leah Laurenti, Grammy winning artist Lauren Kinhan of New York Voices and Paul Simon’s bassist, Bhakiti Kumalo. Listen to the smooth sounds of blues, jazz, rock, mellow soul and more. It’s sure to please the eardrums. We also like to set up the perfect scene while listening to our live entertainment. Hang out by the bar or dining area while the sound of jazz plays in the background. Or during warm weather, relax by the pool or outdoor fireplace as the performer sets the mood for the perfect day or night. Each year we participate in the Long Island Winterfest, which features over 100 live performances over the East End. Winterfest was created in 2006 to liven the culture of the East End. Hotel Indigo and Bistro 72 participate each year and hold nightly shows. While you’re off at a winery or other venue during the day, we invite you to end your night by seeing one of Winterfest’s amazing performances. We have Live Entertainment on the East End every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Stay tuned for nightly performances on our website. We update it weekly!
