Santa’s Coming to Bistro 72 and He’s Bringing Brunch

~Live Music at Greenport Harbor Brewing Company

The East End may be known for its wineries, but there are many good local breweries in the area. Formed in 2008 inside an old firehouse, Greenport Harbor Brewing Company offers tastings 12PM – 6PM on Sundays and 12PM-7PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Most afternoons, you can also grab a pint, sit down and enjoy live music. On the day of our inaugural Santa Brunch, local musician Marty Attridge will be playing live from 2pm – 5pm. ~Go ice skating

Established in 1828, the Village of Greenport’s Ice Skating Rink in Mitchell Park offers an inexpensive way to enjoy the cold weather. It’s open 11am – 5pm on Sundays, weather permitting. Admission is only $10 for adults and $7 for kids under 18. If you need skates, rentals are only $5. Plus, novices can get a training bar for $5 or experts can sharpen their skates for the same price. Be sure to call ahead, (631) 477-2200, ext. 2 to check if they are open.

~Visit the Long Island Aquarium

If you’re looking to stay warm, see the wide of array of sea creatures at the Long Island Aquarium. They have tons of events ranging from Sea Lion shows, Penguin feedings, and even a Sand Shark lagoon talk. Learn about all the animals in each exhibit, many of which have been caught locally in the Peconic Bay or Shinnecock Bay. If it happens to be the week of your birthday, you can get free admission in honor of the Aquarium’s 15th anniversary. Otherwise, tickets will cost $21 for children, $27.95 for adults, and $23.50 for seniors. Children 2 and under get in free.

One Night Only: Steaks, Cigars and Whiskey

This year is almost over– bring yourself and a friend to our Steak & Cigar Dinner to celebrate! You’ll get a delicious Prix Fixe, 4-course Porterhouse Steak Dinner, and more importantly, you’ll finish off the evening with two local favorites: a Hampton Cigar and a glass of Widow Jane Bourbon Whiskey.

Widow Jane, distilled here in New York, is looking to unseat more traditionally popular Kentucky bourbon whiskeys. Kentucky whiskeys get their unique, beloved taste from the minerals in Kentucky limestone. Luckily, the Rosendale Limestone used for creating Widow Jane’s whiskey contains even more of the beneficial minerals that make a good bourbon. This leaves us an award-winning whiskey with unparalleled flavor and aroma– the perfect post-dinner reward.


We also enlisted the Hampton Cigar Company, based in Westhampton, to cap off this feast. Formed in 2014, they design special cigars to simplify the unnecessarily convoluted process of cigar-buying. All their cigars are the same square shape and size. They come finished with an easily removable pigtail cap, so you don’t need to invest in a cigar cutter. All you need to do is twist and pop off the cap and you’re ready to go. This simplicity doesn’t come at the cost of quality either. Each cigar is blended with the finest ingredients, crafted by hand in small batches and aged in a cedar tray.
