End Your Summer with BBQ & Whiskey

Celebrate the last days of summer with BBQ and Whiskey out on our patio! You can take in some rays while enjoying a good old fashioned BBQ and listening to live music by singer-songwriter Jeff LeBlanc. Then, wash it all down with Widow Jane Bourbon Whiskey, an acclaimed spirit distilled in Red Hook, Brooklyn.

The Whiskey

This bourbon whiskey has notes of orange, spice, cherry wood, and olive oil and a buttery, toffee-like aroma. Fans of traditional Kentucky whiskey will definitely enjoy this New York twist on traditional bourbon whiskeys. Whereas Kentucky whiskeys get their unique, beloved taste from the minerals in Kentucky limestone, the Rosendale Limestone used for creating Widow Jane Whiskey contains even more of the beneficial minerals that make a good bourbon. It’s a much-awarded whiskey, named #1 bourbon by GQ and heralded by Edible Manhattan and Brooklyn Magazine.

The Music

Jeff LeBlanc, a Long Island native, started out with dreams of becoming a middle-school teacher.  However, LeBlanc’s discovery of songwriting led him down a different path. His first single, “Until We Get It Right” entered into the rotation of Sirius/XM’s The Coffee House, giving him enough exposure to headline a 60-date college tour where he was praised as everything from “the new John Mayer” to an artist “perfectly in tune with his audience.” Jeff has also been called upon to open for household names like the Goo Goo Dolls, Lifehouse and he’s toured with a wide range of acts such as Gavin DeGraw, Tori Kelly, and Colbie Caillat. Catch this rising star while he’s here!

The Food

Bistro 72 will grill up racks of baby back ribs, cheeseburgers, and Mesquite chicken. Each entrée includes a side of baked beans, a twice-baked potato, and a piece of grilled local corn. There’s no better way to say goodbye to the summer season.

Call us now and reserve your table (631) 369-3325. No ticket purchase required.

Palm Beer, Mussel Pots, and Michael Duca on the Patio this Thursday

Don’t miss out! Next Thursday, August 17th is Palm on The Patio, the fourth event of our Patio Series, a night of craft libations, live music, and fine dining by Bistro 72. This week’s featured beverage is Belgian craft brew Palm beer and live music by local musician Michael Duca.

The Music

Born and raised on Long Island, Michael Duca has been playing in Long Island for over a decade where he has grown a loyal following and has now become a highly requested musical act for many occasions.

His acoustic adaptations of covers range from Elvis, The Beatles, Billy Joel, The Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd up to and including top artists of the 80’s 90’s and today like Sublime, Red Hot Chili Peppers,The Black Eyed Peas, Usher, Mumford & Sons, Adele, Rihanna, and Phil Phillips,

You can see a range of his covers here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cuPJe-pk9UA&feature=youtu.be

The Beer

We’ll be serving Palm’s namesake beer, a beer defined by its honey-like mellowness, fruity aroma, and mild caramel flavor. Made for socializing, the flavor nuances of Palm beer make it an excellent pairing for the rich flavors and textures. This beer was once one of the best-selling “specialist” beers in the Netherlands and the brewers have been crafting great beer since 1706.

The Food
Palm beer pairs well with seafood. Naturally, our special tasting menu for the evening will feature Belgian favorite mussel pots with frites and mayonnaise. We will also offer our signature seafood tower which includes shrimp, snow crab, and oysters on the ½ shell. For a walk on the sweeter side, we’re serving Belgian-style waffles with your choice of toppings.

If you can’t make this week’s event, there’s two more Patio Series events you can look forward to. Check out our BBQ & Whiskey event in September or All Things Apple event in October.

A Closer Look at The Sunday Happening

Have you heard? The Sunday Happening, Bistro 72’s all-new and inspired brunch is gracing our tables every Sunday from 11am – 2pm. The Chefs have created an extraordinary menu that takes a novel turn on many of your favorite classic American brunch meals.Let’s take a look and see what’s cooking.

The Stuffed Crumb Griddle Cake is an ode to local ingredients. It features Herbie’s Crumb Cakes which you may have seen at the Westhampton Farmers Market on Saturdays or in our On-The-Go stand by the lobby. To make this decadent Stuffed Crumb Griddle Cake, we take two of Herbie’s Crumb Cakes, grill them and stack them with cream cheese, apple compote & cinnamon butter. It’s a special and unforgettably delicious way to start your day.

We gave eggs benedict an East End twist with our new Crab Cake Benedict. It’s made with lump crabmeat and topped with a crispy poached egg, fried pork belly, horseradish hollandaise, and a side of organic mesclun greens. Seafood-lovers, rejoice! This is the dish for you.

If sweet is more your style, go for the Belgian Waffles & Ice Cream. We take a buttermilk waffle and layer it with ice cream (your choice of chocolate, vanilla, strawberry or salted caramel), fresh whipped cream, berries, and chocolate shavings. The nooks and crannies of the Belgian waffle serve as the perfect vehicle for these toppings. This one will definitely satisfy your sweet tooth.

There’s something for everyone on this brunch menu, so drop in or make a reservation by calling us directly at (631) 369-3325. For a look at our menu, click here.
