There’s nothing as fresh or as tasty as local food and libations! And at Bistro 72 and Hotel Indigo, we believe there’s no better way to celebrate locality than indulging in it! In honor of the local spirit, Bistro 72 is mixing up brunch on Long Island with the ultimate Bloody Mary menu.
Our professionals have fused together the tastes of the East End to satisfy Bloody Mary lovers across Long Island. LiV Vodka, Holy Schmitt’s Horseradish and Murph’s Famous Bloody Mary Mix create a concoction that will make your brunch even more delicious.
A Bloody Mary Brunch on Long Island
LiV Vodka
LiV is Long Island’s first craft distillery since the 1800s. The 5,000-acre potato farm distills the most delicious vodka around and lucky for us, they’re down the road located in Baiting Hollow! The farm-to-bottle distillery hand crafts each small batch of vodka to ensure great taste in every step of the process. The professionals at LiV use state-of-the-art copper pot stills to mash, ferment and distill until the batch is perfect. LiV also specializes in whiskey and sorbetta, perfecting each recipe just as they do with their vodka.
Holy Schmitt’s Horseradish
As a child, Matt Schmitt helped his grandfather on their 25-acre farm located right in Riverhead. Together, the Schmitt family farmed cabbage, beets, herbs, sweet corn, lettuce, spinach, and of course, horseradish. They sold their crops to local markets, and the neighbors loved getting their fresh horseradish each spring. However as time passed, the farming tradition began to diminish. So in 2009, Matt began researching the wholesale of horseradish and by the spring harvest in 2010, he was selling Holy Schmitt’s Horseradish. This delicious horseradish is a key ingredient in our Bloody Mary recipes, making each libation pop with flavor.
Murph’s Famous Bloody Mary Mix
Hotel Indigo has travelled across Long Island just to taste Murph’s Famous Bloody Mary Mix. Located in Rockville Centre, Murph has explored flavor after flavor perfecting his mixes. As a Bloody Mary connoisseur and flavor lover, Murph could not stand for anymore bland Bloody Marys. Now his famous mixes provide the flavor and inspiration for every one of our Bloody Mary options on our new menu.
LiV, Holy Schmitt’s and Murph’s inspired us to create the most fitting Long Island brunch libation, the Bloody Local. To spice things up a bit, we’ve also concocted the Bloody Maria using Murph’s Famous Hot & Spicy with Silver Tequila and Holy Schmitt’s Horseradish. Or try the Bloody Marine-A, a nautical themed Bloody Mary with Murph’s mix with clamato juice, Liv Vodka and cocktail sauce, accompanied by a jumbo shrimp. And for our bacon lovers, try the Meaty Mary, made with Murph’s Famous, Bakon Vodka and topped off with a thick-cut apple-wood smoked bacon. Explore the wonders of the Bloody Mary and change up the way you brunch on Long Island!
