Long Island Restaurant Week was designed to benefit food-lovers and restaurants alike. Diners get a chance to try out new menu items and new restaurants while saving money. Restaurants benefit by getting foot traffic during a typically slow period of time as well as a chance to win over new guests and maintain relationships with current fans. The restaurant’s chefs also get to flex their culinary muscles and experiment with new entrées.

“I love to get feedback from our guests on dishes that are new and exciting. I also love that it brings new customers to our restaurant which allows me to create a wonderful experience for their first time with us,” said Bistro 72’s Chef Deb. “I wanted to come up with a creative, bold and different type menu that [Bistro 72 has] not yet done. I put a lot of thought into every course so no matter which option you choose all the dishes are balanced together from beginning to end.”

Tequila & Cajun Shrimp

Chef Deb loves all the specials on the menu, but if she had to pick a favorite it would be the Tequila & Cajun Shrimp entrée, since she enjoys the contrast in flavor between the spiciness of the shrimp and the subtle cream-based sauce on the fettuccine. Ultimately, she says there’s only one way to find your favorite–come and try them yourself.
